ICF under the ground

Hi Guys

Just a basic question.

When you've dug your trench, put some cement in the bottom can you start with your ICF straight away taking into account it will be under ground or do you need to build this part from blocks and then start the ICF above ground.

 

Our SE drawings are for block build, but we are considering ICF and just wondered how it worked.

Of course we are having a groundworker, but just wondered.

I would use a trench block underground 

Probably work out quicker and cheaper

We used ICF directly on top of the raft foundation. 

 

Put a water bar in the raft and used waterproof concrete. ICF was then faced in stone or block work - some of the block work was back filled and tanking slurry was used on these blocks.
