jon9483 Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Hi All, My fiance and I are looking for a small modern home we can feel settled in. It does not have to be perfect - it can be on a slope. I intend to use a modular home on the plot. Reviewing planning applications for cheshire west and east is a new process and time consuming. As I am working away foe several weeks at a time it would be useful to pay a professional individual to find plots. Any guidance would be appreciated.
nod Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Registering with local land and estate agents is your best place to start Especially if you can tell them your ready to commit As good plots don’t hang around on the market for long The ones that you see coming one day and sold the next have usually been offered to buyers before being advertised Irlam Estates is a good place to start 1

twice round the block Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 As above, register with all the local estate and land agents. Know your budget, and have all finance in place and readily available ( 1 months notice for the full amount for plot only ) so that you can move fast, not that critical if you can get a mortgage on an existing house that's on the plot. 1

jon9483 Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 Mass produced to bring down costs and built off site. Here are a few examples. https://idmh.co.uk/ https://www.dan-wood.co.uk/en https://www.huf-haus.com/en-uk/
twice round the block Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 They are not mass produced, they are built to an architects drawings. It's not one size fits any plot. The shell may be nearly the same sqft but the windows won't all be in the same location or internal layout. You still need a plot of land to put it on, and the cash to buy a plot.

I think a static caravan, shipping container or a jack leg portacabin may be more viable.
