MarkW1979
I have a quick question about dry-lining plasterboard finishing costs, hopefully someone can help. The quote I have received from the timber kit manufacturer have priced for plasterboarding as part of the roughings costs, however this does not include jointing and finishing obviously. I'm finding it hard to find estimates of jointing/finishing (information usually includes the cost of installing the plasterboard and does not separate out the jointing/finishing costs). Would anyone be able to provide approx costs (or signpost to info). The build is 167m2, 1.75 storey, standard height ceilings. Thanks in advance. The alternative would be to do the finishing myself - I am a reasonably competent diy'er, but I think I would struggle with the ceilings. Anyone any experience? JohnMo
Just look for an Ames taper. I paid around 3.5k for labour only, I supplied all materials. But on 192m2 bungalow, main living room vaulted 6.5m high, all other rooms had an angled ceiling approx 3 to 3.5m in most rooms down to 2.5m for some of the smaller rooms. So not the easiest job. TonyT
Lots of painting companies do Ames taping. as your painter will complain that the taping and filling is crap and then charge you an extra day or two for remedial works prior to painting….. plaster for me.
