An Irish mate of mine, who lives in Scotland says, "if I had to live in England, I would get a bag of drugs and hide up a tree untill it gets better".

For many years I used to decamp to our cabin in Sweden for months on end. Used to find it the most refreshing thing to do. I've been in the continuous slog for far too long and building a house only brought a brief reprieve until the reality of what a monumental task it was I'd taken on.
