Airtightness Test

Hi,

I am new here and wondered if anyone had any advise of the following.

We are completing a self build for the first time, its timber frame with a block and render outer. We have been careful to use a VCL over the whole of the inside and also in the loft also, all joints taped (I hope well enough). I am nervous a about the airtest and have been reading that I need to seal the plasterboard to the floor before finished floor then skirting, which will also be sealed. What do I do here, seal with mastic type product or is there something else?

You should not need to if the air tight layer behind the plasterboard has been done properly.

Thanks for getting back. With the floor wall junction, we lapped the VCL over the DPM and taped. Then has a 25mm upstand around and then another DPM for UFH and screed.

For £300 just get it tested and see how it fairs. , fix as needed.

We are having an assessment from a company then will go with that if it’s recommended.
