Hello

we live about 3 miles as the crow flys from the needles on the IOW.  Yesterday there was a 122 mph gust of wind there…

the rear of our third story roof extension faces SW, which is the way the wind was blowing. This is the result on out extension roof. Looks like the membrane and led flashing has been lifted!

I assume my next task is to get a roofer out to estimate the repair costs but is there any thing I should be doing inside the house to prevent further damage

many thanks

Ian

Contact your insurer.  They will be able to advise what they need.  If this is visible from inside, like a loft hatch, you could have a look and see if you can see daylight.

Definitely contact your insurer.  They should also cover any emergency work like getting someone to lay a tarpaulin over it and tie that down to prevent any further damage until it can be repaired properly.
