Insulation, and more insulation and remove drafts.  LED bulbs, strip lights and spot lights.

Plenty of good combi boilers about.  Attached is worth a read about combi boilers.

We used a green star boiler on our previous build and probably would have done the same on our next Had gas been available

What car do you drive and how far each year. My biggest saving now is in transport.

But insulate and control the ventilation.
