idontknowwhatiamdoing
I am considering getting remotely controlled light switches for rooms. So I can have flexibility in figuring out where to put the switches and also save the hassle of wiring a physical switch. I can't seem to find anything about building regulations for RF/Wifi switches. Has anyone used these in their properties? Example below.
Temp
I don't think there are any building regs issues other than the height of the floor.

If you do go down this route, use someone like MK, they were doing the battery-less piezo switches 10 years ago, so have been at it for a while. Temp
I think Quinetic claim to be the first with battery less switces?
BobAJob
But why do you need remote control light switches? I use smart bulbs which can be remote controlled and also do other smart things like automatically turn on at sunset as it changes throughout the year. I can put them in any light fitting and they work. I also have a timer plug on my broadband router to restart it every day just in case it locks up and the remote functionality stops working. wozza
Also consider Shelly. They now do wall switches with a plate to house the WIFI switch or dimmer - I have four Shelly Dimmer 2 and they are working well - lights are controlled by a standard wall switch (Shelly switches were not available until recently), the app or voice assistant.
