Niall
Hi, Looking for advice... We're having our loft done and as part of this we're removing the header tanks currently up there. We also want to move the boiler and intend to replace it because it's at least 20 years old. We're going for a system boiler and unvented tank. Our installer has quoted for either an Ideal Vogue 26kw or a Logic+ 24kw. Vogue quote is £500 more - is it worth the extra? We'll end up with 2 showers and four bedrooms. We have radiators now, but planning on underfloor heating throughout (once we've extended out the back on the ground floor) ; installation will include some 'tails' to add UFH circuits at a later date. It's a pretty standard 1930's semi. Regards, Niall.
JohnMo
Neither are massively efficient, some websites say the vogue is now discontinued? Why ask for an A+ rated boiler for example an Atag iS is the same price as the lower cost one.
Nickfromwales
The Ideal are solid boilers, but our budget offering, and typically we install those in rental properties or for 1st time buyers etc. Our weapons of choice are 1) Vaillant, 2) Baxi and 3) Worcester Bosch. I think it's fair to say that WB are making a very good boiler these, but for my own house I'd still go with my long-time favourite; the Vaillant.
