WWilts Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Detached house, family of 5. Hot water and downstairs UFH uses gas boiler. Worcester recommended condensing boiler Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000 21kW system boiler with a hot water cylinder Green storage WB unvented 250L. Might tip the EPC into fail territory for SAP. Are there a more energy efficient & cost-effective options? Incurring the up front cost of solar PV would be a last resort. Any other options?
SteamyTea Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 How much DHW do you typically use. May be worth measuring it or only default figures can be used. The cheapest option will be to use less. 1
JohnMo Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 This could be an option. Alpha boilers sell them, may be worth a look. Basically a combi boiler, with preheated water, to up the performance of the combi, so it's doing less work, so can produce a better flow.
