PeterW Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Does anyone have a 1/2" NPT tap that I could borrow, or I would be prepared to tap a hole in a brass blanking plate ..? I want to mount a 1/2 NPT threaded thermowell into a brass immersion blanking plug and I thought I had one but it's 3/8th so wondered if anyone had one lying about ..?
Onoff Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 1/2" BSP nearest I've got. With one of these: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSP-NPT-Adapters-Male-BSPT-to-Female-NPT-Exten-in-Brass-European-to-American-/121411882514?var=&hash=item1c44b64e12%3Am%3Amadw2aTuT3ZCop4kFBQmWeA&_trkparms=pageci%3A60c2cf79-284a-11e7-b054-74dbd180f678%7Cparentrq%3A9bdc4b4315b0abd99d17ff0effff4e04%7Ciid%3A11&varId=420348982949 ?
PeterW Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 Have just realised plan B is more effective and leaves the immersion operational if needed .... Will make a dip tube from the top of the tank through the hot water draw off with a 22/10 reducer ..!
Jeremy Harris Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 (edited) I had a look earlier, but 1/4" BSP or 1/2" BSF were the closest I had - not much use really! Edited April 23, 2017 by JSHarris
PeterW Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 Thanks both - getting the solder and the gas torch out I think is the answer ..!
