Cheap (est) wall tiling

Kind of asked this before ….

 

Whats the cheapest method to tile a wall ? . Decorative so no need to be waterproof etc . Ct1 on osb ? . Was thinking of getting the cheapest tile backer board so at least a good key .

With modern adhesives you can tile over anything 

Plasterboard is as good as anything 

and cheap

Cheapest = sparkleboard so no tiles at all.

 

Hate the stuff myself.

 

Quick set tile adhesive will bond to anything and, god forbid, you ever need to get some off.  Like I do....  Tiler didn't allow for the architrave so it going to need to be cut and come off and it is going to take the green board with it.

I put tiles direct onto plywood with CT1 Grab n Bond.

 

Also stuck some onto moisture resistant plasterboard with CT1, Sticks Like Sh!t, The Dogs B@ll@cks etc. All stuck.

Banged adhesive around. Tenner for 20 kg is pretty cheap
