Options for Replacing garage roof

Good Morning,

 

looking to hear others opinions on roofing materials.

 

the garage is separate from the house, timber frame, used for storage and a bit of DIY.

 

PV panels will be fitted later.

 

initially looked at metal roofing, then thought about torch on felt, then watched some videos on GRP.

 

What’s the most cost effective DIY solution?

Existing or new?

 

Would you consider in roof pv panels? You could then save on some "tiles". Don't know, weather wise if you could fit the trays now and panels later?

Existing garage.

No in roof panels just, surface mounted rails and PV panels- already have them ( second hand)
