Loads of it is used in that house which recently won home of the year. Was looking to use it in my house too or possibly the cheaper micro cement. It's close smooth to the touch and you can touch a fingernail to it and see the reflection. Really is a thing if beauty. I read up a little bit about it. Something I think said not good in kitchens as it doesn't do well with grease spots? Different types too, one you can wipe with a wet cloth, another with a soapy wet cloth. Whatever it's hugely impressive, like one huge piece of marble.

IIRC they painted the Hardiebacker/plasterboard with a bonding liquid which was gritty, sticky, blue coloured and expensive. Can't remember what it was called. Then it was skimmed with a fine mesh embedded in the skim coat. Then they applied the Venetian Plaster base coat and then two top coats which I think was Stucco Italiano. Then it was waxed and polished. The skill is in creating the pattern using the trowel.
