Barryscotland
If we choose to add a kitchen Island at later date is it going to be an issue that there is under floor heating pipes below it other than not being able to screw it to the floor and the cupboard being a bit warm? Also if a stove is added in the living room later down the line?
Mr Punter
No big deal if you just have some cupboards on the island. If you want a hob or sink you will need services. It is worth extending the electric ring main to underneath anyway.
RHayes
Yes the cupboard will be warm and not likely to be able to store any food in these cupboards, but otherwise okay. I would recomend getting a thermal imaging survey done or some way in which you can see where the pipes are before penetrating the floor or if you are running services retrosepctivly.
