vala
Is there any benefits to having a ply based T&G floor over chipboard? I've got carpet going over most of it, and in the bathroom 6mm hardie backer will be down on top prior to ditra mat and tiles. under everywhere is wet UFH. Mr Punter
My favourite is Egger Protect 22mm T & G chipboard. For a forthcoming project the SE has specced 18mm ply to the upper floors as part of the structural strategy. Who am I to argue?

You don’t need Hardy B board and Ditra One or the other Ditra Matt is absolutely fine directly onto chipboard or ply Pretty much most surfaces

Did consider standard ply instead however thought at least with the Hardie board it would be better with the UFH beneath.
