Kitchen will be fitted by kitchen fitter (not electrician). Electrician will do general 2nd fix, leaving wires for kitchen fitter to connect up the appliances.

Is connection of appliances notifiable electrical work in England?

Good question and I don’t think there is a definitive answer.

hob connection is really no different (in fact easier) than fitting a plug or socket so kitchen fitters often make the connections just as the delivery and install guys are not sparkles either.

Trying to discover whether we will need to have our electrician make a special visit after kitchen is fitted.
Good carpenter available & interested in fitting kitchen. Other option is to get a kitchen fitter who is part P qualified.

No. Notifiable work is limited to new circuits, replacement consumer units and additions/alterations in a special location (of which the kitchen no longer is).
