Brenty1892
Hi All, I'm having to pour about 10-12 bags of self levelling compound single handed and i'm looking for some advice on two potential methods i'm thinking of. Firstly, good old fashioned mix a bucket and pour but i'm worried about timings. Secondly, mix all of the bags in an empty drum i have and then drill a 1" hole in the bottom and let it flow. Not sure if this a crazy or if it would work Its Mapei 3240 if that makes any difference and floor area is about 30 sq metres Thanks for any help
markc
10-12 bags isn’t a lot. the time you spent mixing in a large drum would probably be more than batching. get yourself set up, materials close to where you are working, good mixer, pre measured water level in container etc. have a break, cup of tea and then go for it. mixabag and tip it out, straight onto next bag. PeterW
Add an extra 1/2 litre per bag, get the floor sopping wet with a mop and bucket and clean water first and then mix / pour etc using a Plasterer’s bucket and a power blender. Have 3 or 4 marked up water buckets filled to a line and then just keep filling …
