ollieD
Hi all, What block type is generally used for infilling a beam and block floor? I've seen 10mm medium dense blocks mentioned something like this (https://www.huwsgray.co.uk/shop/armstrong-100mm-insulite-medium-dense-block-b-v-7-0n) or (https://www.buildbase.co.uk/brick-and-block-deals/forterra-fenlite-lightweight-block-73n-100010511-2800515). Would that be the way to go or is something else normally used? Thanks, Ollie

Moonshine
Whatever it is, most beam designers specify the block to have 3.6N transverse loading strength
Dave Jones
7n block. It will be specified by the block and beam designer on their drawing which building control will need to see. Edited July 13, 2021 by Dave Jones
