Moonshine
Does anyone know of any guidance on how high each pour of a core filled (200 mm) masonry wall should be? 2 blocks, 3, 4, more? The walls will be tied, but they won't be supported from the outside.
markc
Difficult one as there are a lot of variables, number and type of ties, mortar mix etc. but i would be working on around 1m per pour with unsupported walls
Mr Punter
You will need to compact the concrete with a poker which is where it can go wrong. 900mm would be the max I would go to but if 450mm is practical then even better. Leave for a few days for the mortar to go off before pouring.

markc
That should be a pretty tough wall, as above give the mortar time to go off and bring the level up slowly and evenly - assume you are using a pump so work your way around and bring level up approx 1 foot at a time, this means you can be less harsh with the poking.
