Vijay
Got this 1800 x 900 infinity shower tray for my Mums walk in shower which is made by Abacus. Not overly impressed as it is advertised as a 30 to 20mm fall but is actually 30 to 15mm. But my main issue is the warps in the ends. This is the tray https://www.abacus-bathrooms.co.uk/#!/wetrooms-waterproofing-glass-screens/infinity-single-fall-trays-kits/infinity-single-fall-shower-kits/Infinity-Tray-Kit-18-x-9-Wall-to-Wall.html Abacus say they are all made the same and are 30 to 15mm fall (they even asked where I saw that it should be 20mm ? ) and they say to just weigh it down and it will be fine - but I am concerned that once I do that, it's on me if there's any issues as it'll be bonded down! I'm concerned if it isn't right, water will pool in the corners.......................... Also, how flexible should shower formers be? I assumed they would be very rigid and made to the finished shape??? Sorry for all the pics but hopefully you can see my concern which hopefully I'm over worrying............... Cpd
I don’t know enough about it but as you say it will all be to late if you go forward with the project and then find it’s a dud...... I would be looking at returning it and going with a reputable brand name.... I have just fitted two Mira non slip shower trays and both were fantastic quality. Vijay
I was under the impression Abacus was a reputable know brand Took me ages to get a sample of the Mira non slip, but I found it wasn't as good as some slip resistance tiles (which surprised me). My Mum wants a walk in tiled floor, so really want a former.................
Vijay
Any more thoughts on this as I'm getting desperate lol Supplier is being pretty crap, either fit it or get a refund
JFDIY
How flexible is it, if you can lay the straight edge on it and with minimal hand pressure get it to conform then I'd say it's going to be fine, the instructions show it being bonded down as you say, once down it'll hold its shape Pretty sure it will be fine in practice, I've got a 6mm bow in my fibreglass shower tray, only way I can see me sorting that is going to be bolt it to the floor from underneath. Vijay
To be honest I don't know how much flex there is in it, but I would say that there is probably enough to straighten the edges out. I did wonder with enough straight edges if I'd be able to keep it flat when it's bonding down, it's the unknown and also a very expensive mistake if it goes wrong at £532. I also thought as long as nothing sticks upwards, then I could correct and falls with the tiles and adhesive............................
