I am about to project manage our self build passive house in the Scottish Borders.  Early days at present but we're on track to proceed.  Demolition of existing building completed, plot clear and temporary services in place.

Hi @Coalbags welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting thus far with your project. There are a few members in the Borders and more further across Scotland as a whole, so you are in good company.

We like photos and plans as well as questions so please feel free to share your experiences so far and as the project unfolds.

Hi & welcome to the forum.  Exciting stuff - are you going for Passivhaus certification?  It would be great to see a blog on your project.  See Redoctober's for how it's done ?

Thanks for the comments, we have managed to  fit 55m of 32mm mdpe for temp. water and navigate the process of removing the overhead electric supply and buried our neighbours supply and the temporary site supply for the build, the contractor was amazing, the addition of a meter to the cabinet is proving more difficult! I somehow spoke to a human at Utilita and agreed a no standing charge tariff, however now the temp. box has a supply I have been unable to contact Utilita to get the meter fitted  (by phone and  email) I think i may have to go elswhere ? I have the mpan number and don't understand why this is so difficult? Does anyone have suggestions for a reliable electricity supplier?

Next job is to get the soil and geology survey done, (they are'nt answering their phone either) the 6 tree stumps to be removed may have done me permanent damage, who would think that a bit of wood could be so stubborn?

We are aiming for passive house certification, the reason is that, I think (hope) that this will ensure that there will be a certainty of better build quality.
