Barryscotland Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Stupid question time, 2 quotes for UFH, one has over 4K of 15mm slim board the other doesn't. we have 150mm PIR then 75mm screed, what is thinboard and do we need it?
BotusBuild Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Assuming the UFH pipework is going in the screed I cannot see a need for anything other than some form of clip system to hold the UFH pipes to the insulation. Can you provide more information about the "thinboard"?

After speaking to the company that did the quote its insulation with the pipes built into it and definitely not needed with our floor build up.
Temp Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Some companies use a slotted insulation to hold the pipe in place. Definitly not needed in your case.
