Taff
Plasterers have been in a few weeks ago, roof almost finished. The guttering not in yet. Now that the raining season has arrived up in Northumberland! Don’t think it ever stopped tho ?. The water trickles down the side of the house and penetrates the inside leaving the damp patch. I’ve asked the plasterer if this occurs will we have that dreaded patch once painted. He’s stated, no! im no plasterer but a little dubious about his answer any thoughts/experiences
PeterW
Just now, Taff said: The water trickles down the side of the house and penetrates the inside leaving the damp patch. Errr ... that’s not right ..!!! Have you found where the water is coming in as the membrane should stop that, and then it should go over the fascia. Even if the walls get wet it should have no way to cross the cavity ..??
Taff
It’s collecting in the channels where the roofs meet running down the flashing channel. Then on to the external stone work then onto a steel joist (I think) going up to investigate today.
Mr Punter
You really don't want to be plastering until the place is completely watertight.
