Hello,

I've decided to try and patch point a small area of a wall. I need some advice of the best way of colour matching mortar.

I've attached a photo of the type of colour which is  a coarse sandy grey colour. Someone recommend 4 parts yellow sand, 1 part sharp sand and 1 part master Crete cement, does this seem about right?

Mix sand and cement using teaspoon dry, there are a few choices of local sand and darker or lighter cements, 4, 5 or 6 and 1then 4.5, 5.5 etc. Once it looks good dry mix wet. Put in airing cupboard shaped, and rubbed to dry, check match the next day

Sorry do you mean 4,5,6 and 1 as in sand to cement ratio?

Judging by the photos should I start testing with a darker sand? Or normal yellow?
