Cresswelle
We are planning a loft conversion and dont know if we need a party wall agreement or not. The architect said it depends on the SE drawings and I’m waiting a response from him as to the position of the steels. I’ve attached the drawings but I’ve never seen drawings like these before so no idea what I’m looking at? can anyone help advise me pls? thanks in advance G&J Dwg 4652-GA-02.pdf
tonyshouse
Definitely needed, very risky to go ahead without it in place, they can stop you working
Big Jimbo
My omputer will not let me open your drawings. It's prob me as i am rubbish with tecno stuff. If you are c utting either steels, or timbers into the party wall then yes you will need a PWA. My dads house was higher than his neighbours, when the neighbours cut into the party wall for the steels, they came through into his bathroom, and back bedroom. Oh, have we laughed. (Not). The neighbours didn't chuckle either when i gave them the bill for fixing it.
tonyshouse
The party wall act says working within 1m of a party wall.
Cresswelle
Thanks everyone. We get on with the neighbours so hopefully there won’t be any issue (fingers crossed)
