Atomic
Hi all I'm in the process of a self build and have my windows arriving next week. One of the windows is an Oriel window width = 1505 height = 1645 point 657mm projection 90 degrees. Total window weight 120KG I'm after advice as to the best way to construct the base and the top to meet building regs Hope someone can help thank you Paul Edited October 21, 2020 by Atomic
Mr Punter
Timber frame with rigid insulation and OSB sheathing will work fine. The sides can carry most of the load.
Atomic
Thank you! I don't suppose you have any images by any chance?
Ferdinand
I don't know how they did it, but 1930s semis often have oriel windows in the bathroom. Anything to learn?

joth
Must be the new hotness. Oriel windows seem to be taking over where crittall left off last year. Like them, they look a nightmare for heat retention! I don't have anything useful to add, except "ask your architect" (I'm assuming you've already tried that), and good luck
