RRK
Hi All, Its been exciting to read so much detailed stuff on this website. I am planning on a large rear single storey extension which I intend to self manage with separate contractors such as ground works, brick layers, roofers, plumbers, electricians, plasters. I intend to let the contractors buy the material and only manage the interfaces Is their any guide or reference where I can learn on key interfaces so that I can know which trade required when. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Edited October 5, 2020 by RRK
nod
If you use individual contractors You will be better purchasing the materials yourself As most individuals won’t want to supply the materials But will be happy to make a list out for you

I will consider this when getting quotations for sub contractors
siva509
where do you buy your materials from. is it mainly online or from in-store? I am also looking for an extension, but not decided whether to go for self managed- labour only or material included.
Dave Jones
I wouldnt buy the mats, Id sub out packages of work to be completed. This way the subbies cant blame you for not finishing what xyz wasnt on site etc Still price the mats so you have a rough idea of cost though.
