Bored Shopper
We used a very thin profile skirting as I hate thick one, and this one is much easier when it comes to putting furniture against walls. The picture is not really nice (still cannot clean the house as builders are in daily), and as obvious from pic lots of snagging and polishing to be done, but really pleased with the skirting shape and form. Spent ages agonising around it, finally got one from https://www.wmboyle.co.uk/product/sx165-flexible-skirting/. It's very light-weight plastic and cuts nicely. Takes paint well. ProDave
Simple Oak veneered skirtings from Howdens and matching oak veneered architrave. Simple and un fussy. All oiled with Osmo door oil.

Mandana
@Bored Shopper thank you! I think wood would be more in keeping with the house, but appreciate your response.

The awkward thing was i had not realised the frame maker had made all the internal doorways quite tall so we needed 2040mm tall doors which really limited the choice. Hmm, I’ve not got the door schedule in front of me but I’m pretty sure ours are mostly 926 x 2040
