eandg Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I know there's calculators online to calculate bricks and blocks required. Just wondering if there's any easy reckoners for working out the number of insulation/plaster boards required (and the most efficient way to fit them)?
SuperJohnG Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Cant really provide any help but I just measured all my wall and roof areas using autocad from the architect drgs. If you have the drgs you could use a free package to measure the areas?
eandg Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 Thanks - have the drawings so will see if I can get some free package to do so.
nod Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 If you take the total area and add 5 % to the total for waste
SuperJohnG Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 dwg true view (Autocad's viewer) let's you do it. It's a free download. https://www.autodesk.com/products/dwg/viewers 1

SuperJohnG Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Remember that roof and walls will be different thicknesses as most put 2 layers on roof I think. In my budget i think i doubled it up to be safe, but still need to work out final numbers and specs.

If it’s standard ceilings and walls You normally put single layer of duplex 15 mil on the underside Of the trusses 15 plain on the underside of the floor joists 12 mil moister to bathroom walls 12 mill wallboard for the rest Insulated board for the slopes
