Morning all.. we have an old devon farm house with large cement tiles. Expect to last another 10 ish years- locally someone knocking 5 bed house down to make way for new build. Been offered all tiles (Italian design 3 years old) for 500 quid.. but no scaffolding up. Would need to strip roof from inside and handball down..  i also have storage and manpower from friends...

Being new to roofing.. is this worth the hassle ?

Anyone done similar?

Also is there an easy way to calculate roof area  ? Am using online calculators but unsure if I'm getting it right as they seem to assune gable ends ??? we have tiles on 4 sides (no gable ends). Floor plan 16m x 11m rectangle. 5.5m ground to top of wall plate..  wall plate to ridge approx 4m.

Thanks in advance Jim

Thanks @Russell Griffiths..  they've been on 25 years was an assumption on my part.. they're not broken but are looking a little tired.

I agree about £500 - what could I expect to pay for tiles new ? Hence the question about area..

Thanks for input.. Jim
