Thanks @Russell Griffiths.. they've been on 25 years was an assumption on my part.. they're not broken but are looking a little tired. I agree about £500 - what could I expect to pay for tiles new ? Hence the question about area.. Thanks for input.. Jim

Morning all.. we have an old devon farm house with large cement tiles. Expect to last another 10 ish years- locally someone knocking 5 bed house down to make way for new build. Been offered all tiles (Italian design 3 years old) for 500 quid.. but no scaffolding up. Would need to strip roof from inside and handball down.. i also have storage and manpower from friends... Being new to roofing.. is this worth the hassle ? Anyone done similar? Also is there an easy way to calculate roof area ? Am using online calculators but unsure if I'm getting it right as they seem to assune gable ends ??? we have tiles on 4 sides (no gable ends). Floor plan 16m x 11m rectangle. 5.5m ground to top of wall plate.. wall plate to ridge approx 4m. Thanks in advance Jim

Thanks Joe90. Has there been discussions re pros and con's of vortex, bio-pure etc and does the bio pure really have a longer emptying interval ? (3-5 years) any links to previous threads save people repeating themselves.. thanks in advance

Hi All - We are about to exchange a septic tank for a sewage treatment plant and need to discharge to a ditch that runs for 10 months of the year - have others done this ? ( - advice appreciated - also looking at biocell quickone, bio pure, vortex - aware the "which tank" discussion been done before - any links/experiences ? Thanks Jim

Hi all Just purchased a 4 acre small holding in Devon. Needs TLC and redesign on number of levels. 1st project - new sewage treatment plant! We are a family with 5 young children so just ticking off one project at a time. I'm a Pastor by trade not a builder but have found threads and advice on here v. helpful. Look forward to getting to know some of you! Jim
