Estimators Online - accurate?

I’ve come across this website, has anyone used them to support a self build mortgage application?

Obviously, it is far from an exact science given that they don’t know the extent of the groundworks and excavation, etc but what are people’s thoughts on it as a useful starting point.

 

The cost is £155 for a report which seems very decent value for the amount of detail it contains based on images alone?
 

Also, I can use it as a reference point to go off and get comparative quotes from local contractors, etc for the specific spec I want?

Any estimate is exactly that

A rough guide 

You can pay more and go to a QS

Or do it yourself 

All will give you a rough idea 

But any estimate will rely on you knowing exactly what you need 

150 quid isn’t a fortune if it saves you costing the material yourself

For the minimal cost of their estimate it gives a great starting point. I used it then downloaded an excel copy and bastardised it to fit my build - helped massively.
