contents insurance for a static van

i can include my van in my site insurance but the contents insurance is abit vague anyone had a similar experience or know of any firms i can contact thanks in advance.

We included in our site insurance. Tbh, nothing in our van was worth nicking. We had a separate shed where we locked up power tools (and sometimes we put stuff in the van at night). And we found that we were virtually on site 24/7 anyway with living here. 
we also stored some furniture and boxes of possessions in a summer house (locked and boarded up).

 

if you have anything really valuable, store off site?

I’ve had van insurance that covered hand tools Quite expensive We stopped including tools as more conditions where added 

The two main ones where 

Must not be parked more than a 100 mtrs from where you are working 

Must in sight of where you are working 

We have a van vault in each van now 

Site insurance starts to get expensive when you start including tools and plant

Google found a reference or two but I don't know if they cover self builders..
