Russell griffiths
So today openreach where out in the street putting a new cable up the poles in front of our place, being a nosey bugger I went and asked what it was. Turns out it’s a new fibre cable. But only getting rolled out to business users. Ok that’s cool we will be running a business from the new house so not a problem does anybody have a business contract and what sort of costs are involved i do intend phoning BT but thought it would be good to have some info before I get told a load of bs. Cheers all.
Temp
I think anyone with FTTC can order FTTP and they will quote to provide it at some cost. I'm guessing they are just making it easier in some areas where there is high demand.. https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/products/ultrafastfibreaccess/fttpondemand/fttpod.do Quote Fibre to the Premises on Demand enables you to order Generic Ethernet Access over Fibre to the Premises (GEA-FTTP) in speeds up to 1Gbps for your customers who are within a Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) exchange area and are served by a FTTC enabled cabinet. In response to a FTTP on Demand (FoD) order we will survey, plan and build the FTTP network to the individual residential or business premises. Continues.. or perhaps they are just replacing old cables in your area. Edited March 10, 2020 by Temp
