learner
Hi This my 1st building project so i need advise please. I intend to build a sips panel single storey extension of around 20m wall length. The floor level of the house is around 500mm above ground level. The previous owners had already added a concrete base at that height so i want to add to that (3m x 5m). The concrete i will either have poured or do my self depending on price is 1.8m x 7.7m x 500mm= 6.93m3, half is on grass and half is on concrete. The new concrete will but up against the other concrete and an external brick wall. Will i need expansion joints? How much is the concrete? Im sure i will have more questions but first things first. Thanks
Russell griffiths
Have you had a building regs drawing done for this? you will probably need to remove everything the previous owner put down unless it is insulated and has a damp proof membrane installed. I would talk to your architect or building control.

Simplysimon
extending the slab by 3m isn't as easy as it sounds. you would have two slabs, what if one moves but the other doesn't. as @Russell griffiths says, get professional advice.
