Tile Trim Not Long Enough

Hi.  All I can find is tile trim on 2.4 m lengths.  In our bathroom this means will have to join 2 pieces.  Anybody else found a solution to this ?  Would we be better off not having tile trim and using colour matched silicon sealant.  I don't want wood as it is a contemporary bathroom.

Unfortunately Tile trims are geared up to transporting in someone’s van So 2.4 is typical 

If your tile supplier can be bothered They can get you a 3 mtr trim I pay about 3.50 for a ally trim 

For 3mtr it’s about £12 rack 

With postage for a tube at about a tenner

Would a well done butt joint be very visible? Think I'd much rather have a joint than silicon sealant.
