I'm looking into securing some funding via Buildstore, I'd read in Buildit magazine that the fees were 300 quid but they've quoted me 1k for their services. Anyone had any recent experiences? 

£1k sounds about right for the sort of exorbitant fees Buildstore charge.  IIRC they quoted us something like £850 several years ago.

 

They have pretty much cornered the self-build mortgage brokerage market, so do seem to feel they can charge pretty much what they like.

Sometimes they offer you options which you can then go direct to lender and swerve their fees. This after being told by them it was exclusive deal. 

Had an initial chat with an adviser, in the end I had to run off and get a piece of paper to record the fees between buildstore and the lender.

 

That was the end of that.

These are feed I was quoted  last year from them...I believe the indemnity fee only applies to accelerator stage payment type. But as far as I could understand it was 2.5k before even starting to get cash....I've still to go through process of evaluating them against ecology. But so far heating great things about the latter
