j_s
Hi guys, I've started improving all of the joins between windows and brickwork. The brickwork in places is awful (not straight lines in reveals) , also got mortar sticking out slightly. I'll be using foam and expanding tape but to use the tape ideally the gap needs to be more uniform. Any ideas how to cut back the mortar between frame and brick in a max of 10mm gap? Thanks James Edited October 15, 2016 by j_s
Barney12
I'm not sure I completely follow what your describing but to remove mortar you'd normally use a mortar rake on a grinder. If if you wanted a bit more control then you could use a multi tool (like a Fien Multimaster) with a carbide rasp. Declan52
One of these and a hammer is the cheapest route and less likely to damage the window. http://www.screwfix.com/p/roughneck-plugging-chisel-1-x-10/83722
j_s
Thanks guys. Turns out I didn't need to do it in the end but I will keep those carbide rasp attachments on file for my multi-tool
