The tundish has a spring return valve in the middle of it, is this suffice? Or would it a Hepvo straight trap be better on the straight run of pipe on the tank? https://www.screwfix.com/p/wavin-hepvo-waste-trap-white-40mm-x-40mm/3962K?tc=GA7&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI26r-wuLQhgMVpDUGAB2tPwHkEAQYAiABEgLIBPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hi All I need to install a temporary (at least a year) fence around 1.2m high and no longer than 8m in length just to keep a small down in my garden I have been scouring the internet but i wanted to avoid concreting any posts in as this will be moved this time next year when we landscape the garden etc.. I was thinking just some knock in posts and wire mesh pinning on...would this be suitable? Could anyone recommend any other ideas at all? Even knock in fences as a whole but the there is a slight fall on the ground Apologies for the random question but hopefully one of you guys would of been in the same position and have some insight

Hi All Due to some changes in our kitchen design I have now moved our washing machine into the plant room. The plumber has put a waste pipe in for it but as you can see from the picture it needs extending to make it work In my previous house it was just stuck down the pipe, however would it be better to install a proper adaptor for it to be jubilee clipped on? Also all my waste goes in the foul drainage so will it need a trap putting on it? As you can tell by these questions I am not a plumber so any suggestions/ best ways to do it very much appreciated as the mrs is now on my back!

Hi All I am just in the process of clearing my garage out so I can move some of my stuff in. I have a sheet of 2.4m x 1.2m of 25mm celotex, 2.4m x 0.6m of 50mm & builders bag full of off cuts - mainly 100mm (see attached pic) I am in the LE12 area, free for collection. I thought I would offer it out on here before putting it on Facebook or the skip!

Hi All I have asked many questions on here but this definitely the most random one I have asked. I have flush casement windows and the internals of the windows are quite thin I have ordered 1 perfect fit blind from Blinds2go and my suspicions were correct as in they stand off the window, we have looked at many blind options but still prefer the perfect fit look I have attached a couple of pictures that show what I mean, has anybody else had this issue at all? Any ideas what we could do to help this look better or even recommend a place where we could get alternatives that work but all the places i have looked all need the deeper internal profile on the windows

Yes its a waterproof type paint, Dulux trade diamond matt, it was sold to me as better than kitchen/bathroom paint - (was more expensive too!) Yes I thought the same regarding not adhering to the mist coat, this is why I am annoyed as I should have cleaned the walls down properly before emulsion I am planning to use a very thin layer of filler and sand back Will it just randomly start peeling now all over? I know it's impossible to know
-
The whole house was mist coated, my only concern is that i didn't fully clean down the surface before painting so i panicking that it may all start peeling!

Hi All I have painted all my walls and ceilings in Dulux trade diamond Matt emulsion, I went for this as it saids more durable and can be wiped etc However I am concerned that it will start to peel, the worktop guys slightly chipped the paint in places (tight fit) and it has started the peel with lifted up edges. I have also noticed this when fixing/drilling into the walls Has anyone come across this before with diamond matt emulsion? I am just panicking now that in a unknown period of time all my paint is going to start to peel off!

Hi all I have a very random question, I have a sky lantern on a flat roof area. Today when it was quite warm out, it was making a lot of cracking/clunking noises quite regularly. I am pretty certain it is due to the heat but is there anything at all I could do to try and alleviate this? Cheers

No problem 👍 I popped a hole in the bottom of the trunking and bought all the actuator cables up centrally and tie wrapped together

My buffer doesn’t have an immersion

The UFH is off so house not hot and I have checked everywhere and seen no obvious sign off escape of water
-
It’s like it’s tried to do it’s sterilisation but not managed to get upto temperature and just continuously ran

I am going to answer these to the best of my knowledge 🙈😂 The immersion heater for the hot water is fed from the ASHP, I think there is just an immersion heater in the dhw it sounded like the noise was from around the buffer tank but the ufh was turned off on the controller
-
Hi I have an ASHP that has 100L buffer tank and 300L DHW tank, I finally had my hot water commissioned couple of weeks ago. I have turned the UFH off left the hot water on and it has kept ticking over the last couple of weeks and has been fine (used hardly any electricity as not been living there) Yesterday when I was at the house it sounded like water was ‘cycling/flushing’ just within the plant room where all my tanks are which I hadn’t heard before and it was doing constantly and when I checked the energy monitor it has used 100kwh in 24 hours!! I turned the Ashp controller off and it stopped, I had the plumber over today and he turned it back on and it wouldn’t do the same thing but I am concious this will most likely happen again I know this is a very vague issue but has any body got any idea what this could be? literally any ideas/ suggestions will be very much appreciated many thanks

Thanks again for all the comments The issue with the underlay we have gone for the heat flow under flow which is only 6.1mm thick. I might do a mixture of both, belt sander it and then filler if needed

Hi All Another random issue if anybody could offer some advice. Where my 22mm T&G floorboards change direction there is slight lip and as this is on the middle of the landing where it is going to be carpeted I am concerned that you will feel it under foot and eventually show through the carpet What would be the best way just to take the lip off it slope it on so it wouldn’t be so noticeable? I completely forgot about this and have now started painting so any ideas that wouldn’t be ridiculously dusty would be preferable…not sure if there is any! Many Thanks

Thank you @Bozza The hunt begins for the right coloured silicone 😅

Good Afternoon I am finally getting round to decorating and I am really unsure on how to finish up to my built in kitchen tall units I have attached a couple of pictures to show you what i mean, the issue is there a small gap all the way round from my units to the wall. It varys from 1mm to 3mm in different places I can't imagine I can just leave the gap, do I try and put a straight bit of frog tape and then caulk, remove tape when wet. Then paint but I am guessing at that Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome!
