Yeah, looks ideal, but no doubt very expensive, resorted to a flapdisc/angle grinder combo now.

Hi folks, was hoping someone might be able to offer some advice, I have an old house which I recently bought, the chamber joist arrangement is oak spine beam and joist, which I've recently exposed from the underside and in the process of cleaning up to display..as the voids between the joists are now open, I thought it might be sensible to insulate, but with what? The space could be technically considered as warm, however as with most houses of this age the joists and spine beams rest on solid wall construction, so for that reason ventilation might be prudent....any thoughts very much appreciated.

Hi folks Utlities have recently changed my incoming and the 3 other properties within the farm complex to water meters complete with new MDPE inlets, now the pressure isn't so good.. Can anyone offer any advice on dealing with low water pressure, I have a combi and need two showets...seems to be a whole host of options in terms of pumps and break tank combos. Sadly I think a Salamander would be too small, so that's the easy option ruled out. Thank in advance once again.

Hi Folks My new project has a fair few old oak beams which I'd like to strip back to bars timber, anyone got any advice? Like the look of Soda Blasting but can't really afford to pay a specialist, anyone had experience of hiring and operating this type of machinery? Cheers

Brilliant..one last thing before I order the gear, supply side is 32mm,I'm going to reduce to 25mm does that seem right to you. (Might be worth noting water pressure not good, the other residents have had to install booster pumps) Thanks
-
Yeah, that sounds doable, only thing is, at the point where the mdpe will exit the external wall it won't be anything like 750mm, do you think it would freeze?
-
And just feed the pipe through the hole? And down into the trench?

Hi again Peter The existing rising main is 22mm copper and is located in the corner of the kitchen, the pipe just disappears into the concrete, god knows where it ends up..Anyway rather than breaking out a section of concrete to a depth of 750mm around the existing rising main, is it possible to bring the new MDPE on the exterior side of the wall and penetrate the wall at say 400mm above floor level, avoiding the ballache of digging out and reinstating the section of floor..i'd need to insulate and/or use an enclosure of some kind. Cheers again in advance.

Thanks, I'll give them a try..?

Seems to be a major shortage of MDPE pipe and fittings, Screwfix and Toolstation both sold out, I'll try some indies tommorrow..assuming this is just pandemic related supply chain issues? Anyone know know which suppliers have it?

Yeah, I'll definitely get it tidied up. Try and get rid of what's not needed.

Clearly it's not quite current regs, might do one day, all works for now though.?

You any good with electrics? Looks like a plan new terminated incoming feed, but it's not doing anything, what do you think?

Thanks a million Peter that's great.

Hi Peter, the pipe is in the garden, and a new supply side stoptap and meter have been fitted. So yes water is connected just turned off currently

Hi folks, hope you're all well and keeping out of harms way. Just bought a new place at auction, needs a bit of TLC, it turns out that a new water inlet has been fitted by the local water utility but never connected up the the house (presumably because the house was unoccupied) the incoming terminates around 3m from the existing internal stoptap. I intend to make the connection myself, do I need to notify my local water utility company and get the everything inspected or do I just crack on a say nothing? Cheers

Thanks, house looks great btw?

Thanks, the picture shows that you have followed the cladding below ground, looks great, my concern is more a durability thing I suppose, when compared to a solid brick wall.

Looks great, what happens below damp? Does the system allow for a seamless solution to mimick traditional engineering bricks?
