Unfortunately, they have covered the copper pipe in soil; however, they haven't done any subflooring, etc. What is the best approach right now? I am thinking of requesting at least one option from the Builder. can you please suggest which one is best 1. Ensure that I am aware of the water mains pipeline path and make sure there is easy access when needed. 2. Request the builder or hire external plumber to replace copper pipes with MPDE pipe and cover it in duct.

Approach for garage conversion

@ETC Could you please explain this line "you’ll need restraint to the front wall and bearing for the lintels" with possible examples and pictures? I understood the bearing bit, which means we need a suitable lintel on top of the Door to bear the load from top (wall and roof load) Please explain me front wall needs to be restrained and some reference reading Also I have spoken to builder he says since not much space in the corrider however we can open the door in garage space on other side. -

Approach for garage conversion

Attached are the pictures 1. Yes, plan is to keep the study it has access from kitchen also. 2. We can access house already from this space. You can see in attached picture (Plan is to open another door into this space(picture attached) 3. Plan is to install french doors with small outlets and trickle ventilation which will solve ventilation problem. 4. Plan is to keep it as storage space and do the french doors with small outlets in front instead of garage door. and add a side door from main door to keep shoes and coats Moment we plan for raising floor it becomes living space and we have insulate walls and floor etc -
Hi All, I may have roof like this with one of slope along the neighbour. Since there is no gutter he may complain as he says his place floods during rain. Is it ok to have gutters on both sides of slope. Mine is single storey,Will the foundation gets affected if he doesn't have gutters on both sides Mubbashshir

Hi there, We found this copper pipe when we were digging foundations and near by there is SW(Surface water) black metal lids we normally see on road. Most probably it's water supply line for my house. Any house if it's advisable to keep it under the foundation by casing it or putting a slab over it. Just thinking how do they normally fix these types of pipes hidden under foundation or floors

Hi there, I want to order garage doors like the attached from China or Europe whoever gives the best service and quality. And statisfies UK regulations. Could you suggest some websites?. This is the one with a side door(Garage_Door) I also have some questions, what is the best way to choose a door or French door size based on the existing garage door. I believe we should go for smaller size so we can adjust or fill the space using any additional fitting or bricks in the free space. I am interested for the garage door with trickle ventilation and some small window outlets for air as I am doing for garage conversion however having bigger door will help it to serve as garage as well if need be. My garage opening is 2.1 meters by 2.1 meters with some additional space which has white wooden frame as attached. Its 3 inch wide on both sides and 4 inch wide on top(refer attached snapshot of garage door. (Garge_door_with_white_frame)

If you can see the garage picture there is study behind the garage.(which you cannot see however for your information). This garage is 4 metre by 2.5 metre. So not wide enough more on bit narrower side. My plan build a living cum storage place for other garage items and couple of cycles which can be wall mounted. *I want it to have garage ambiance or retain that look. Any ideas will help* Question : 1. Any design ideas of garage conversion into living cum storage room.(Couple of cycles & some tools, paint tins)Will BC approve it? 2. I want to take help of builder to first install a french window with ventilation to replace garage door or do you recommend some other door type . I want the door to be wide enough atleast 1.5 to 2 meters wide to get some items through into back garden. Plan is do floor, wall and ceiling later by undertaking DYI or friends help. Is this sequence correct or we need to do insulation job done first. 3. I am planning to purchase used french door from FB or eBay. Can you please advise how ensure I get right size. The have measured just the garage door(black metal) excluding white wooden frame. It's 2000 *2210 mm. Can I purchase French door of this size. If the french window is bit smaller size can the builder fill the extra space with brick or some other material or is it better to use companies who measurements and do fittings.

My plan is if possible instead of going wall to wall as shown in the drawings. I can move 17.5 mm inside to build the wall on neighbours side. Please refer to attached diagram. My question is will this compromise structure stability of new extension as the foundation of extension may not exactly align with existing buildings. Also we have to join new extension wall with existing building structure by removing some bricks and adding some steel mesh to attach both walls any advise on best approach will help.

Hi Dave, Thanks you very much. Is there any compliance you had to follow to sketch this up. As I can see you have left 600 mm in front of WC and 800 mm in front of WHB. It will help me with my understanding. Also can use non standard door width for bathroom door opening outside to avoid any accidents as it is opening in corridor. Hi Please refer attached document page 1 section Application: 0.2 The recommendation of this volume of this approved document apply to newly erected dwellings, and dwellings undergoing alteration only. They do not apply to the extension of a dwelling

Attached is drawing the rodding chamber currently is in the corridor of proposed drawing and planning to relocate in front of the proposed bedroom on right(its marked in red for your easy reference). The waste pipe actually runs under the proposed room shown in the drawing and joins the in the shared public sewer chamber which is in my neighbours.(shown in drawing). Can you educate me on soil pipe ,as to how do we design so its in right location. Note: Ignore the dimensions on this drawings as they will to corrected soon, hence shared the earlier drawing which is more accurate with regards to dimensions

Hi there, Attached is the rough drawings of 1.8*1.2 bathroom with window at the back. Can you help me to fit WC, Shower( step free) ,Washbasin, towel rail of standard sizes using the working space needed as per building regs. Please mention the sizes of the WC,Shower and Wash basin so it will help me to get the right size. If you cannot give me a drawing is there any easy guide which will help me to self design myself. At the moment strugging with working spaces concept when I am trying to design myself. with regards, Mubbashshir
