  1. He showed me the plans. We are not happy about it but there is little we can do. I know he knows what he's doing as he works in property so will be trying to get around the party wall agreement. Its obviously going to devalue my house or make it or make it bit harder to sell now. My thought are to wait and see if the gutter overhangs then act otherwise I suppose I mention party wall and he will have to stop work. I dont think there is any benefit in the party wall route now it nearly done and he has pp.
  2. My neighbour is currently building up to our boundary. No party wall act, we were unaware of it when work stared. I pretty sure his gutter in one part will overhang. What do i need to do. Think he's pulled the wool over my eyes with his build.

  4. My panels need a good wash but i think i will wait for rain rather than get on the roof.
  5. Cheers Mike, anyone think it is repairable or should 2 inch blocks not really be around a staitrcase?
  6. Hi This 2 inch block wall is from the 60s and is over the stairs. It is built off the floor boards and has had some movement. Not sure if it is due to the builders i had in recently but we ended up with a lot of water damage. There is definitely movement when you touch it and the crack on the left goes all the way to the plaster on the other side. Its not structural and my instincts are to remove this wall and the right hand wall and build a stud but its going to be a bit messy. Advice appreciated. Thanks
  7. Not sure what you are on about. I was just thinking solar install may be an issue. Nothing to do with vat or price.
  8. Ok
  9. Hi Im no expert but that's a straight forward roof but my first thoughts were your solar panels. They will have penetrated the felt and there could be broken tiles or bits missing from tiles under there. When i took my old panels of it was a right bodge underneath
  10. No, if not a leak condensation my stop when lagged.
  11. Condensation or more likly water getting in from dry ridge like mine does.
  12. The 2nd roofer i had wont come back but took the cash. I think the saddle detail may be the issue as it has the adhesive strip over the top. I would have put it underneath. There is a good chance water is getting in here as what you can see is not stuck so rain may be running under the valley tray and coming out at the bottom side of the dormer. Any thoughts appreciated
  13. Any thoughts on this. My thinking is water will be straight onto the felt in wet and windy weather.
  14. Afternoon I had a new roof late last year. Got to say i am disappointed with the job done. Mainly poor attention to detail. I've been having issues with water on the felt and collecting behind the fascias. I had a look today and was thinking if the felt going over the valleys is the issue and if it need cutting back. See pics. Oh and he wont come back to sort it.
  15. Ok thanks for that. Will have a think about the next step.
  16. What happened was i was quoted to replace panels which the solar company selected. Offer then accepted by myself. Third party company then turned up to do the install. They told me the issues and fixes when they left. Original company now saying I need to add more panels but that isn't efficient and will breach and negatively affect my payments during average weather but i cant benefit in full sun as limited. Other option is single inverter and rewire or leave as is with 2 strings. I am going for them to install 2.5kw inverter, not sure about wiring.
  17. It is a genuine solar installer that did the work. I think its just an oversight re the inverters not powering up. So the panels will have to be rewired to go to one inverter then?

  19. If i connect them all to 1 inverter will have 2 sets of 3 in parallel so still only 109volts and not enough for inverter to kick in.
  20. The issue is i have 3 panels on each inverter so the installer said they are not getting to required start up voltage. So i need more panel or a new single inverter. No idea if this is correct.

  22. System was already installed. So pleasant unknown surprise when we bought at auction and it was on 2011 tariff.
  23. Hi Got 2 1200s. No idea why. Maybe because old array of 10 had a few panels lower down and partly shaded. I now have a row of 6 just below the ridge.
