Having a few tweaking issues and I think an infrared / thermal camera will help find cold spots in the floor (wet UFH in insulated slab) , possibly caused by differing flow rates and set up. does anybody have one I could borrow or suggestions on where to get hold of a cost effective solution ?

Electrical first fix in an ICF house
IanMcP replied to Meabh's topic in Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF)
As said. Run cable to ceilings for access points. Use Ubiquiti networking. This kit is awesome and will allow ‘roaming’ on WiFi as you go around the house. can’t have too many cat6 points. -
See other post for details. They need to go now don’t understand why you wouldn’t add these to your project as a starter pack ? 🤷🏻♂️ anyway. I need them to go now. Come and collect !

No takers ? 🤷🏻♂️ -
All valid @Russell griffiths hence me throwing it out there. 👍 like to idea of render then simply clad over that. I have part grey render so would do that to match windows then timber over. horizontal battens would be as many needed. Say 600 spread ?
-
Membrane purely cosmetic to cover the blue in the gap. But if it isn’t breathable the battens behind won’t get to dry out ?
-
house build is Nudura. I have 4 areas between windows that I want to clad. Remaining external is render. The effect I want is vertical slatted. Think 2x1 with a 10mm gap I I I I I I … like this 🙂 my question is how best , simply to construct this. for simplicity I’m thinking : - 3 horizontal , top middle bottom , battens. - black breather membrane across area. Black to hide the lovely blue wall. - vertical slats , C24 painted. With 5/10mm space , which would then be black. Any issues here ? pointers on best membrane welcome ! ta. oh and nobody has bought my spare blocks yet !?! 🤷🏻♂️

Internal stud / partition wall sound insulation - such choice !
IanMcP replied to IanMcP's topic in Sound Insulation
Walls already built. -
ok, my wall make up is 100mm stud at 400 centres. Each wall has 18mm OSB on one side , 12.5 plasterboard both sides (obvs!) I need to sound insulate the internal walls. From what I can gather 75mm would be optimum to leave an air gap and not stuff 100mm in as that will only help transmit any noise, or at least help. There's so much guff on products to choose from - Rockwool RWA, Rockwool sound insulation, Knauf sound insulation, Isover, URSA acoustic roll how much does density have to play in selection ? also, it seems my using 400 centres limits off the shelf choice and I will have to cut 600mm down Real world feedback and examples please ?

did you actually do this ?

Nice replies thanks. Looks like foam will do the trick maybe with a temp batten to hold it fast

Have searched but just can’t find what I need. Likely there’s a name for these so here goes …. I want to ‘screw’ 50mm celotex to the bottom of 150mm celotex. This isn’t the only fixing. Where there’s a roof joist I’m going through the 50 into wood. But due to bad cutting / workmanship there’s a couple of areas where there is no joist to hit. is there something like a 100mm big fat plastic wide thread screw that will hold celotex to celotex ?? once I batten below the 50mm it will be held better. A few of these screws would just be nice and fix a temp issue.

Has anybody used NeoTimber slatted cladding. ? any pics of finished project welcome. I’m uncertain the finish will give what I’m looking for and the samples are well , samples !

Wasn’t aware no. Thank you. so spray foam is a no then… was exploring it for best air tight seal Suggestions welcome

Hey I have 4 mono pitch roofs. 2 with loft , 2 will be up to the rafters. trying to find a detail for the make up to allow spray foam - for insulation and air tight at the wall junction. House is ICF so air tight paramount. Rafters are web joists. 18mm deck above with green coat standing seam. looking at Isothane but they don’t supply and detail just tell me the depth needed for u value. does anybody have drawings to share please ? thanks
