Steve526
Has anyone had any experience of ‘thermal leightweight aggregate’ floor insulation? i believe it is an insulation that is put down like floor screed , it then hardens and you can clip underfloor pipes etc to and then the top 50mm liquid screed or whatever. is it any good? how does it compare to PIR? what are u values like? i am looking at a depth of 160 mm thanks
Onoff
I used to come across "light agg" on roofs around 30 years ago. At least that's how it was pronounced. Really thick, laid to falls on top of structural concrete and good in compression. Dead easy to dig through though. This was before "blue board" insulation so I assume it had inherent insulation properties.
Temp
160mm for the whole lot? I would go with 100mm PIR and 60 mm screed with reinforcing in. What's going on top? It can be hard to stick tiles to some types of liquid screed. Edited March 22, 2019 by Temp
Steve526
It would be 160 of this insulated floor screed, underfloor heating pipes laid then top coat of 50mm liquid screed. are there different types of liquid screed? Cheers
