Can someone please tell me what should have happened with the black flaps of the foil VCL at the floor and ceiling levels please?

 

Should the top flap be above the ceiling plasterboard? This room is on the first floor, above the ceiling is the cold roof/attic space.

 

Should the bottom flap be below the chipboard floor? Below the chipboard floor is OSB and then the posi-joists.

 

Or should they be cut off?

vc foil should be taped to adjoining vc foil - be that on underside of rafters+ above that plasterboards layer, as well as brought between floor areas- not to be stuck to plasterboard, chipboard or cut off
