Paul Francis
Hi, I have bought a site that comes under the borough of Croydon. I have been granted planning for 2 two bed flats. As this doesn't come under a self build project I will have to pay CIL. On the site there are garages/storage. Can you offset the floor area of the existing against the new project. I have looked on the Croydon website and not much help. have emailed them and no joy with any info. anyone come across this. Thanks
newhome
This doesn’t entirely apply to you but it’s worth having a read as firstly Croydon were awkward plus it does mention offsetting of floor area.
willbish
I would say no. I was told the existing dwelling on my plot could not offset the floor area of the new build because it had been vacant for many years. I don't know the specifics of cill but I would guess unless your buildings have been habited they would not be eligible.
