bassanclan
So I got a quote from DPS Heatweb for their heatbank/thermal store. I decided I didn't like the price. I tried to get it sorted throught cylinders2go but what I wanted, they couldn't fit to any of the Telford layouts. So I sought a quote from Newark copper before ordered a stainless steel cylinder to this designThermal store.tif I am trying to recreate a system similar to http://www.energyhubplus.co.uk/index.html Which is similar to the DPS Heatweb system which is similar to the (now closed down) HTG thermal store. The radiator circuit is in 28mm copper (direct tapping) The boiler stove is in 28mm copper (direct tapping) The gas boiler is in 22mm copper (direct tapping) The UFH (2 zones) is in 22mm copper (from a single coil) BOILER STOVE On the energy hub plus model there are magnetic filters on the boiler and radiator circuits but there is no magnetic filer on the stove circuit, I presume this is because it would be dangerous to have valves capable of interupting the flow to and from the tank (even though there are valves on the laddomat loading valve). Would it be worth fitting a magnetic filter on a 22mm injector T? Proposed magnetic filters as they are cheapest: https://boiler-m8.co.uk/boiler-m8-defender2-28mm-magnetic-system-boiler-filter.html DHW DHW is via a plate heat exchanger. I was thinking of using this pump https://www.screwfix.com/p/wilo-yonos-central-heating-pump-6m/59045 to circulate the hot water from the store through the PHE. I was looking for a 28mm flow switch, but cant find what I was looking for so will settle for the gentech fs05 22mm switch used by eneryhubplus. I propose using the Taconova NovaMix Standard 70/40 MT52 Thermostatic Mixing Valve used by energyhubplus alternatively https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oventrop-DN25-Brawa-OVRG-Thermostatic-Mixing-Valve-1300251/162909264615?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 as 28mm TMVs are not easy to come by 22mm Y strainer for connecting to the incoming cold main before reaching the TMV RADIATOR CIRCUIT Siemens 2 port motorised valve TMV (possibly as above as the price was great) https://www.screwfix.com/p/grundfos-alpha-2l-15-60/73917?tc=FB7&ds_kid=92700020969716932&ds_rl=1248151&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1247848&gclid=CjwKCAjwr-PYBRB8EiwALtjbzyX96YWL2t2YpdG2-il4gY1qtIIpIzjhkzI-mT9MiY5-L7yEAB0AuRoCQ4IQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CLe2tK_1wdsCFRU10wodTpcK7Q UFH The 22mm will split and go to one upstairs manifold and one downstairs manifold. I have Wunda manifolds which have pumps and TMVs, so I thought I could just make the connections directly. THERMOSTATS https://www.advanceappliances.co.uk/product/119-dual-probe-stat-with-hi-limit-control-0-85-deg-c-used-with-all-thermal-stores/ and using their stainless steel pockets. Then I just need to think about the wiring to get everything to work! Hopefully I can combine it with a NEST too! Have I missed anything important? Do I need some spring check valves in anywhere? PeterW
I’d consider not making the gas boiler direct and add an indirect coil as it will keep the boiler heat exchanger cleaner and you can use a system boiler. Can you not ditch the PHE and go for a DHW coil as then there are no moving parts and no need for flow switches etc. You can also get Inta mag filters from BES for about £
bassanclan
Too late for changes to the actual tank as I already have it, all 200kg of it which was a joy to get upstairs! The Inta mag filter is £59.99 inc VAT on BES in 28mm The Boiler m8 are £49.99 inc VAT from boilerfans on ebay in 28mm delivered. No idea if one is better than the other
