Tennentslager
I replaced the diaphragm in the sipon a couple of times by making a new one out of a plastic milk carton but it only lasts 6 months so decided to replace the whole siphon. It's in my lads rental flat and I text the landlord to keep him informed. Helps keep us on good terms as he knows a plumber will take 50 squids... Anyhoo bought a siphon kit from screwfix for a fiver and set about it. Next day there's a leak from the close coupling. Top tip I didn't know, you must replace the big rubber donut each time you uncouple the cistern. It was only 1.90 but of course had to go back to screwfix again! The new one had settings for 6,8 or 9 ltr flush and I chose 9. No domestic water meters in glorious Scotia. What a difference this makes! All I will say is there are some big lads using this loo and the extra flush is so appreciated. Edited June 26, 2016 by Tennentslager

Too much detail. Some of us are Southern Softies.
