Hi all!

I've been a dormant member of this forum for some time. My wife and I completed our first self-build project about 20 years ago and since then we've raised a family in the house we built (which has been amazing).

We are now hoping to start our second self build project on a building plot which is conveniently at the 'bottom of the garden'. However I'm feeling quite rusty on many aspects of self build so I'm looking forward to picking peoples brains on topics such as heating systems (current house is oil fired CH), energy efficiencies, embedded IT and tendering.

You'll soon catch up! Many of the old rules still apply, trick is to identify what's changed. Some of the things that have changed are really exciting, new products, prices have come down, PV for example and UFH is much more "normal".
